The Queensland Government is planning to increase the number of tracks connecting Beenleigh to Kuraby. It plans to modernize rail systems, upgrade stations, and remove level crossings. Currently, trains between Beenleigh and Kuraby share one track in each direction. Trains between the two cities are held to one side for four minutes during peak periods. The additional tracks will also require wider corridors and straightening of tracks in some areas. This project is currently in its planning stages and is subject to approvals.
